How to Achieve Optimal Bone Levels and Dental Papilla with the NeoDent Morse Taper Implant System
On August 4, 2017 Dr. Ramsey Fanous and the Caprock Oral Surgery staff co-hosted a CE Course with Dr. Bruno Arnaud of NeoDent USA’s Straumanngroup at the West Table in Lubbock, Texas. Many thanks to Dr. Arnaud for providing this ground-breaking educational course for our referring dentists. The West Texas dental community is very fortunate to learn from the highly esteemed Dr. Arnaud who educates dentists nationwide about the benefits of the Morse Taper Implants.
Through the NeoDent Morse Taper Connection & Prosthetic Workflow, there has been an evolution of implant designs, connections and surface treatments. The current state of the art options place an emphasis on the platform switch concept. Another innovation is the morse taper connection and its many benefits, including the prevention of screw loosening and maintaining dental papilla. Dental Papilla is a small mass of mesenchymal tissue in the enamel organ that differentiates into dentin and dental pulp during tooth development. The innermost layer consists of a cell-free zone of reticular fibers that form the basement membrane.
Course attendees were shown case studies displaying evidence of how the NeoDent Morse Taper Connection assists in prevention of bone loss around the dental implant and encourages the growth of healthy dental papilla. Dr. Arnaud stressed it is very important to have no micro movement and no micro gap between the implant and the taper connection.
